Modigliani Quartet and Fabio Bidini
“One of today’s best quartets in the world” per the Süddeutsche Zeitung — the Modigliani Quartet — joins forces with the pianist Fabio Bidini in a program culminating with the revered Brahms Piano Quintet.
COMMUNITY EVENT: Master Class with Anne-Marie McDermott
The formidable Anne-Marie McDermott has played concertos, recitals, and chamber music in hundreds of cities throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia. She also serves as artistic director of the Bravo! Vail Music and Ocean Reef Music festivals, as well as Curator for Chamber Music for the Mainly Mozart Festival in San Diego. She will give a free and open to the public master class at UMKC.
Anne-Marie McDermott, Master Pianist
The formidable Anne-Marie McDermott approaches the music of Haydn and Schubert with “heft and translucence, structural certainty and seasoned humanity...” (BBC Music)
Doric String Quartet
The “sumptuous sweetness and laser-like clarity” (BBC Music) of Doric Quartet is known the world round and will be on full display in the not-to-be-missed Elgar String Quartet in E minor, which culminates their program with The Friends.
Richard Goode, Master Pianist
Taking us on a journey through Beethoven, the legendary Richard Goode will once more reassure us that “it is virtually impossible to walk away from one of [his] recitals without the sense of having gained some new insight […] about pianism itself..” (The New York Times)

“America’s greatest quartet” (Time Magazine), the revered Emerson String Quartet is on their farewell tour. We will have the rarest of opportunities to hear them alongside the man who has been their cellist for more than 35 years, David Finckel, in the transcendental Schubert Quintet.
