The Friends of Chamber Music has long been proud to partner with other arts organizations to bring the arts to the greater Kansas City community. Here are a few of the outreach programs we are presenting this season:
Beyond the Concert Hall Outreach Series
Kansas City, MO, September 27, 2018—The Friends of Chamber Music will present a series of 9 outreach concerts and events called Beyond the Concert Hall. The series is comprised of performance-demonstrations for elementary school children, masterclasses for music students at KU and UMKC, and a Meet & Greet. Approximately 900 elementary school children will experience performances by the Pacifica String Quartet, Stile Antico, or the Morgenstern Trio. College students at KU, UMKC, and the Kansas City Art Institute will work with pianist Jonathan Biss, pianist Richard Goode, the Morgenstern Trio, the Zemlinsky Quartet, and the Pražák Quartet. Pianists Víkingur Ólafsson and Alexander Melnikov will lead discussions with community piano students, teachers, and enthusiasts.

FCM in the Classroom
The Friends of Chamber Music's Cynthia Siebert and Larkin Sanders have presented lectures on the importance of classical music to local students. Are you a teacher? Contact our Director of Marketing and Community Engagement, Larkin Sanders, to create a unique opportunity for your students.
We always strive to give our patrons the opportunity to meet the artists. Many of our concerts are followed by a brief meet-and-greet autograph session in the lobby. We also include our artists in special events. For instance, last season, we treated local piano teachers to an intimate chat with pianist, Konstantin Lifschitz. Coffee with Konstantin gave the teachers in our community a chance to discuss the art of the keyboard with the master pianist before his concert at The Folly Theater.
To be the first in-the-know about special programming, sign up for our e-blasts! E-blast recipients will be the first to hear about one-on-one artist events, student performances, and pre-concert lectures. Sign up today!
