2012 Bach Festival
“Lifschitz’ utterly spellbinding playing is a revelation of the inner life of the instrument and of the music. This is playing that penetrates the innermost secrets of the heart and mind.” Boston Globe
At the tender age of 17, Russian pianist Konstantin Lifschitz recorded Bach’s Goldberg Variations. The recording of this deeply-felt interpretation of his beloved Bach was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1996, vaulting the young musician into the spotlight of the piano world.
Joining only select presenters in Europe and the Far East, The Friends of Chamber Music is the exclusive United States presenter of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. For five concerts, in ten nights, on three new pianos, in three of Kansas City’s finest venues, Lifschitz will play beautiful works by the composer that catapulted him to world fame. Lifschitz’s prodigious memory recall and transcendent artistry will astound all pianists and enthusiasts from the beginner to the most sophisticated.
